Taj Mahal Night View

The Taj, one of the seven wonders of the World and a World Heritage site, is best seen under moonlight. It is said the Taj changes its colors during the full moon nights. Visit the Taj during full moon nights for the most memorable and everlasting impression. Taj is also very enchanting at dawn and sunset.

With limited access, the Taj is now open for five nights each month for nighttime viewing around the full moon nights. The total number of visitors is restricted to 400 each night. Only 50 visitors in five batches are allowed at a time for 30 minutes each between 2030 hrs to 0030 hrs.

Tickets to view Taj Mahal at night can only be purchased 24 hours in advance. For a small service fee, our overseas tour operator can assist you in purchasing the tickets and also deliver to your hotel if desired.

Book the Tickets at: Archaeological Survey of India, 22 Mall Road, Agra
There is a booking time limit for purchasing the night view tickets for Taj Mahal.
Ticket must be booked / purchased one day in advance prior to the date of viewing on the ticket.
Taj Mahal Night View Ticket Booking Timings: 10 AM to 6 PM.

Cancellations can be done but there are cancellation rules. The general rule is ticket cancellations can be done at the same office address mentioned earlier. But the tickets must be canceled before 1 PM (Afternoon).

Indian Visitors - Adult – Rs. 510/- and Child 3 to 15 Years of Age – Rs. 500/-
Foreigner Tourists Adult – Rs. 750/- and Child 3 to 15 Years of Age – Rs. 500/-
Entry for All Children below the age of 3 years is FREE.

Rules & Regulations
The rules have to be strictly adhered to both for foreign tourists and Indian visitors.
Every visitor to this great monument has to carry a government ID.
The foreign tourist must carry his/her original foreign passport or Visa.
Indian has to carry his/her Adhaar card or passport for government ID proof to visit this monument at night.
All visitors must be at the place for security check at least 30 minutes before the schedule sightseeing time for security check. Please carry the ticket and be at the entrance gate 1/2 hour earlier.
There is limited number of people allowed on the 5 nights – Full moon night, 2 days prior and after the full moon night. So tickets issued will be based on availability of visit slot.
The Taj Mahal. night view visit /sightseeing time is 4 hours – 8.30 PM (evening) to 12.30 AM (midnight).
The maximum number of people allowed to visit the Taj Mahal at night view is 400. this is made into total eight batches to reduce the crowd.
Only 50 people are permitted at a time and a 50 member batch or 50 visitors can witness the beauty of the night view of Taj Mahal. only for 30 minutes each or at a time.
Camera is allowed NO stands / tripods/ videography, etc is allowed.

Tips for Taj Mahal Night View
The rules say you have to be there 30 min prior for security check. So they are kind of strict, be prepared.
Only camera for still photography is allowed. Do not take videos, photo stands, tripods, mobile phones and even bags inside.
Sometimes, it is too dark to see around until the moon light completely comes on. This is the time when the moon shines totally on the Taj Mahal. It is a great sight and you can capture amazing pictures of this shining monument at night.
The moon takes time to go up so high to shine completely on the structure. So take the later hours to witness the full beauty of the Taj Mahal. on the full moon night.
The Taj Mahal. viewing is closed on Fridays and there is no night view during the month of Ramadan.
